Contan project’s first online courses and workshop have been held during 2021 and 2022 and each HEI’s is working behind the scenes to update their own offical curricula. But activities as well go on in the background.
The 60 years Anniversary Symposim for the College of African Wildlife Management in Mweka was held on 21st and 22nd November 2023.
Some of the participants to the Symposium visited Contan booth during these two days, showing interest and curiosity about the project goals and opportunities.
Professor Francesco Rovero also gave a talk to present the project activities. Rovero works as a researcher and teacher at the University of Florence (Italy), which is the project coordinator partner working with a net of three European institutions – MUSE Museo delle Scienze (Italy), Uni Bayreuth (Germany), Statens Naturhistoriske Museum (Denmark) – and three Tanzanian partners – the above mentioned College of African Wildlife Management (CAWM) Mweka, University of Dar es Salaam and Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA).
Speaking of SUA members, beside participating to Mweka Symposium and strengthening relationships between the Institutions, they held a couple of events themselves: the Sokoine Memorial Week Exhibition and the Nane-Nane (Extension Service Providers) Exhibition, where they had the chance to present Contan project’s actions to guests visiting the information tents.
